The Living Arrows project took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”.
Every week, I shall be posting a photo taken the week before and I can’t wait to see the collection at the end of the year.
This week’s photo:
Another week, another picture.
I love this one. I can’t even take the credit as my Mum took this one. My Dad was putting the finishing touches to the climbing frame that they bought Bear for Christmas and Birthday, and one part of this was putting the basket ball hoop on. As you can see, Bear got stuck in and Grandad found his inner patience and allowed him to drill the holes. I love Bear’s face as he’s got a real “Grrrr’ look on his face.
I’m not as capable now as I used to be, thanks to my illnesses but I am pretty good at putting flat pack furniture together and making thinks like a rabbit run etc and I owe that 100% to watching and helping my Dad as I grew up. I love that Bear is getting the same opportunity as I think it’s really important to learn these types of skills – it also saves you a fortune as you don’t need to call someone in to do it for you.
Thanks for reading,
Love,

Great Post! xx
Look how proud he look!! Such a great picture #livingarrows
Ah amazing photo – my middle one always has his eyes on Daddys tools – bet he was in his element! I agree its so important they learn to do these things xx
Dads are brilliant for DIY aren’t they? I’ve watched mine so many times and I still rely on him every time. It’s so sweet that he let Bear get involved #LivingArrows
I love this photo – such a skill to be teaching Bear and I love the idea of putting a basketball hoop on the climbing frame too! He is going to love that – and how proud will he be knowing that he helped to make it?! x
Great pic It’s great he’s getting the opportunity when young to try these things out. I’m useless at DIY, apart from flat pack which I’m pretty good at. I certainly haven’t inherited my mum’s talents at it – she would take on pretty much anything because she had no choice after my dad died. #livingarrows
