Today is a great day but I’m also disappointed. I’m happy with the results (that I’ll share in a minute!) but I’m disappointed that I wasn’t well enough to complete the full 7 days.
I woke up feeling much better this morning. Still in pain and still weak but not as ‘dead’ as I felt yesterday. (There really is no other way to describe how I felt!)
I tried to muster the energy to make a juice this morning but it got to 11am and I still hadn’t. My energy went to building a new train track for Bear and playing with him. I was holding out from eating in order to juice but it just wasn’t happening. It also doesn’t help that Bear doesn’t like the noise of the juicer. ‘No nose mummy. Noise no not. No mummy.’!!
So I decided to weigh myself, take my measurements, have something to eat and have a green juice this lunchtime/afternoon. I will be having a green juice everyday to replace a meal for sure. I have to otherwise all this would have been a waste of time and money. I’d love to have a fruit juice but I don’t think that’s taking the true principles of juicing with me- the green juices have the extras- spirulina and wheatgrass and also fruit juice but not as much sugar.
I also worry about my teeth slightly and will be buying some thick straws to drink the juices through. It’s a common recommendation from dentists to stop the acid from covering your teeth. It’s also a good habit to get into with children too.
Anyway. The stats.
I completed the first 5 days of Jason Vale the Juicemaster’s 7lbs in 7 days. Day 6 and 7 were and will be juice and food.
I weighed myself on Monday 14th:
I read this as 13.6 stone. Horrifying but as you can see, it was 13lbs less that my highest recorded weight. Eeeek.
Thankfully I’m tall but I’m still at least 2 stone overweight.
So this morning, I weighed myself:
Dead on 13 stone and so a weight loss of 6lbs! Yay! I’m cross about what it could have been but I’m going to try and be kind to myself. It’s a good start.
I also know that I can do it. I do have the Will power for at least 5 days. I’d like to think that I could do it once a month but I’m not promising anything!
My measurements are slightly different also.
14/04/14
Biceps: both left and right = 35cm
20/04/14
Biceps: left and right = 34 cm
14/04/14
Chest: 38″ under
42.5″ across the ahem..fullest part.
20/04/14
Chest: 35.5″ under (wow. Really?)
42″ across
14/04/4
Stomach: 42″ (not my waist that is slimmest and has nothing to do with the size of trouser I wear)
20/04/14
Stomach: 39″ Again. Really?!
14/04/14
Hips: 42″
20/05/14
Hips: 41.5″
14/04/14
Thighs: 63cm both left and right. Thankfully symmetrical (small mercies).
20/04/15
Thighs: left 62cm right 63cm. No more symmetry!! Oh no!
So that’s that. I’ve lost some cm’s/inches as well. It’s obvious in my face as well.
Now to continue with this.
It’s nap time for Bear and I now. One day I hope I’ll be able to get through the day without it but right now, I need this sleep and relax laying flat in bed. It’s about the one position that doesn’t hurt (unless I sleep with my legs and arms flat so that my knees and elbows lock or lay on my side….but still!)
It would be totally unfair for me to begin to relate the ‘Juice’ to my fybromyalgia and pain. For one. It’s far too early and also, I’m going through a double pain killer reduction (one of which is Fentanyl, a very strong morphine like patch) at the moment and so my pain receptors are totally messed up. The pain is bad and I think the problems I hit on day 6 were most likely down to withdrawal from drugs but I still managed it and I’m hooked into juicing for my health and weight loss.
Thanks for reading and please leave a comment.
I think the stats are bloody good for just 7 days! Well done – mission accomplished. Does coming off the meds have side effects; like withdrawal symptoms if you like? Could that be why you suddenly feel particularly crap?
I definitely think keep up with some of the juicing. I’m sure there are huge benefits for you with all the nutrients you must be getting. Cant believe how much stuff is involved though – Tescos must have wondered what you were up to!
LOL! I just had to prove I wasn’t a robot : D
Thanks! I think Lidl were wondering what the hec was going on when I walked out with a trolley full of apples! They were really good to be fair though. Much cheaper too.
Just made myself late for working reading all your juicing posts! Need to catch up on the rest of your story now! I think that’s a fantastic result but I must say I was a bit put off by the veg mountain- I don’t think our house is big enough!!!
