About me

IMG_1801Hi

My name is Hannah. I’m first and foremost a mummy to my gorgeous little man who is just my everything.
To describe myself simply, I’m 37, single and with a few health problems……

I currently don’t work but I hope that I will be able to return soon. My background is in childcare, mainly as a Nanny for individual families within their homes, in Yorkshire, London, Cairo and Trinidad. I spent 3 or 4 years working as a Maternity Nurse (known as a Baby Nurse/Nanny in America) which is basically working as a 24hr newborn specialist with a family for a few weeks or months, helping to establish feeding and routine. Wow, did I have some amazing experiences.

I have been privileged to work and live with families from all races and religions and from all walks of life. With this, I have been able to travel, on my own and with work and I feel this has given me a more balanced view of the world.

I was lucky enough to see an idea realised and with my ex employer, had a book, ‘Art for Baby’, published to benefit the NSPCC. More on this coming soon!

As a mother, with my own son, its a case of ‘do as I say, not what I do’. He is 5 and very happily for me, still co sleeps and didn’t sleep through until about 18 months old. He did and still has a few health complications that have contributed to this, but to be honest, I love having him next to me!

I live with my little boy, puppy and kitten but due to my illness, my mum tends to stay over a few nights a week to help me, my big sister stays over one night a week and my dad helps me when my mum is at work. I would not be able to cope without my wonderful family. I am so so lucky.

The blog is my outlet. My ramblings, my thoughts, my worries and my joys. I also hope to be able to connect with other people who suffer or know someone who suffers with similar health conditions. If I can help someone not feel alone, or understand how chronic health conditions affect a person then that’s a bonus.

Over time, my blog has evolved to encompass DIY tutorials, Craft Ideas, Parenting topics and reviews of relevant and interesting products.

Thanks for reading

ps: if you’re wondering, my current health conditions (I say current as I seem to get a new label or ailment every month!)

  1. sorry to hear of the health problems – my arthritis started aged 10 and my little girl now has it and she just a toddler – Let me know if you know of any other bloggers with arthritis or JIA – apart from Candace i don’t think i know of any, yet i want to find out more about people’s experiences of JIA with miss T going through it all now. x

  2. Your post makes me feel better and i couldn’t have described what the pain is like any better x

  3. I was looking up a white spot that is under my eye. It looks identical to the picture you posted. Do you know what causes it?
